1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and a unique Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
• Content you upload or generate. Audio clips, voice samples, scripts, subtitles, images, chat-message text, exported videos, and other media you create or import into the Service.
• Voice samples for cloning. If you opt to create a custom voice, we process the audio you submit to train a voice model associated with your account.
• Usage data. Pages visited, features used, errors encountered, approximate device information, browser type, and timestamps.
• Cookies and session data. We use first-party cookies issued by Better Auth to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and operate the Service.
• To generate subtitles, voice-overs, fake-chat screenshots, and other outputs you request.
• To train and run a private voice model for your account when you create a custom voice. Custom voice models are tied to your account and are not shared with other users.
• To debug, monitor, secure, and improve the Service.
• To communicate with you about updates, billing, or support.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

3. AI Processing and Third-Party Models

shadowclips uses AI providers to perform speech-to-text, text-to- speech, and voice-cloning operations. Content you submit may be transmitted to these providers for processing. We choose providers that contractually agree not to retain your inputs to train their general models, except where strictly necessary to deliver the requested output.

AI-generated outputs may contain artifacts or inaccuracies and should be reviewed before publication.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers who help us run the platform — for example, Cloudflare (hosting and edge compute), Turso (database), Google (OAuth sign-in), and the AI providers described above.
• Law enforcement or regulators when required by valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of shadowclips, our users, or others.
• A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Voice samples and custom voice models are retained until you delete them or your account is closed. Generated content is retained until you delete it. We may retain certain logs and backups for a limited period after deletion for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

6. Your Rights

You may, at any time:

• Access and download the content associated with your account.
• Delete specific projects, voice samples, or custom voices.
• Delete your account, which removes your profile, projects, voice models, and personal data (subject to limited retention for backups and legal records).
• Request correction of inaccurate personal data by contacting us.
• Depending on where you live (e.g., the EEA, UK, California, India), you may have additional rights such as data portability or the right to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise those rights.

7. Security

We use HTTPS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and access controls scoped to the minimum necessary. No system is perfectly secure; you are responsible for keeping your Google account credentials safe.

8. Children

shadowclips is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
